
Our Mission
We are a neighborhood and community center where families with young children can access information and receive services to meet their family’s needs. This includes resource coordination and early childhood education, as well as parent, community, and literacy awareness and promotion.
Our Free Programs:

Food Pantry
Provides food for those in need within our county. Located within Arnettsville Library from 12p.m. – 3p.m. on Wednesdays.

Baby Pantry
Located at The Shack Neighborhood House Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Both baby and adult care items are provided based upon availability.

Playgroup
Twice a week playgroup of themed activities (art, sensory, music, motor, etc.) for children under the age of three. Provides an opportunity of socialization for both children and parents. Parents must attend, snack provided.

Happy School
Pre-k classroom experience for children aged 3-5. Utilizes a learning through play curriculum with an attached parent group component.

Respite
Drop-off program held on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This program focuses on the importance of free-form play.

Home Visiting
Home-based program focused on parental education, parent-child activities, child developmental expectations, and behavior management to improve parent-child interaction. We use the PAT (Parents as Teachers) curriculum.

Community Events
We provide many free seasonal events (including an annual community baby shower) for the whole community focused on bringing families together in a fun, safe and engaging environment! You can also win prizes and take home lots of free goodies at many of our events.
